Who doesn’t like wine and gocarts on a weekend afternoon? Today I went to go get my haircut at HairM and they have complimentary drinks while you waited! (a) how awesome is that (b) the service was awesome and (c) my haircut looks awesome! (I am in kind of in an awesome mood today.) I waited around for about 30 minutes and read a manly magazine called Men’s Health. (aka noticed guys half-naked bodies in cologne ads and wished I had their abs!)
After all my hairs got cut we ventured off to go to our favorite winery! If you have ever made it out to Yamhill Valley Vineyards you will (a) know how pretty it is (b) not leave without buying at least two bottles of wine and (c) have a great time with our friend Linda. Linda is awesome. We met about two years ago when I used to work for KIND Healthy Snacks. I demoed an apricot bar and paired it with one of their fantastic Gris and I demoed a dark chocolate cherry bar and paired it with one of their Noir Estates. (Side note: Yamhill Valley Vineyards was established in the 80s and was the 13th vineyard out of the 400 in the area today!) Ever since then we go and visit Linda because she is full of life, always makes you laugh and pours us the best sized sample glasses in all the land! (plus, she even donated product for our fundraiser! Um, how awesome is that?).
After a few glasses of wine, I treated Chelsea to a Groupon date and drove us to our next 8th grade adventure. It smelled of hot dogs, popcorn and gasoline! No I am not talking about a cheap movie theater, I am talking about Malibu Raceway in Beaverton. Do you remember going to these places when you were a kid/25 year old adult? I forgot how awesome these things were. We got six laps around the track, a personalized Malibu Raceway laminated drivers license and unlimited games in the arcade! Heck yes!!! The workers there were great, the gocarts were fast and we were the oldest people on the track by about 10 years!
Life Lesson: Treat yourself to an awesome night out on the town that reminds you of when you were a kid. (a) you will get to act like a kid (b) you will have so much fun (c) it brings back some good memories and allows you to create new ones!
